Director Yohan Forbes’ Project One , from 2009, begins with the sound of skate wheels over sliding titles, followed by slow camera motion across large-scale architectural expanses. The camera shifts up, down and across river-set footage to the sounds of sea birds and ships’ horns. Close in framing of a skateboard in motion is intercut with a long shot of an elevated train. The skateboard curves past a static camera position; performs a rapid series of flips, and vaults concrete steps against neon fields of light blue, violet and orange. A night-lit view from a moving train interior, and the chimes of Big Ben.
