Created in 1971, Ivor Abraham’s By Leafy Ways - A Garden Memorabilia, uses sequentially-ordered still image, building and repeating gradually into a recognisable, rhythmic progression. Selected from widely diverse time-periods, hand-drawn ink illustrations mix with watercolours, and contemporary magazine imagery with miniature models. A collage effect accumulates, emphasising isolated details: wavy-edged cinder pathways; the overlapping horizontals of wooden fencing, and a mini plastic sundial.
