Has worked throughout Britain as a performer, choreographer and teacher since 1984, holding, among others, the posts of Choreographer-in-Residence at Dance Base, Edinburgh, and Dance-Artist-in-Residence for Shetland Arts Trust. Originally trained at The Central School of Ballet in London, with further study of the work of José Limón in New York, her movement practice currently includes study of Contact Improvisation and Skinner Releasing Technique. Awarded M.A. Choreography with Distinction by Middlessex University in 2004, she is currently completing doctoral research into choreographic practice for screen. Jake Messenger trained in photography at the London College of Printing and was awarded M.A. in New Media Production with Distinction from the International Centre for Digital Content at John Moores University, Liverpool. He has exhibited photographic work in Cambridge, Edinburgh and Shetland, and new media work is available to view throughout the shiftwork website and the lightbox site. |
